  • Students, if you need help with your classwork or homework, After School Tutoring is held in Room 266 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.


  • Students, don’t forget: The Peace Room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30-2pm to any student needing support and a safe space to assist with mental health concerns. Check your Canvas to sign up or ask Mrs. Coley!


  • Attention: HIGH SCHOOL LEADERS

Any SHS students (especially former FALCONS) that are interested in helping at the Franklin Middle School annual fine arts festival —please e-mail Principal Davis at FMS: tdavis@sps186.org

The Fine Arts Festival is on Wednesday, May 14th.  We would need help setting up before the event — any time after 3:30 P.M.  This can be for service hours or just to come and help.


  • The Sister Cities Association of Springfield (SCAS) will be sponsoring a high school student delegation to Ashikaga, Japan from June 21 to June 30, 2025.

The delegation will include high school students and 2 chaperones. Information and application materials can be found on the SCAS website:

  • Any senior athlete who is planning on playing a sport next year in college, please stop by the main office and pick up a Signing Day Information Form.  This form must be completed and turned in to Mr. Barnes no later than 3:30 on Friday, May 16th.  If you do not turn in a form, you will not be recognized.


  • Do you love writing, editing, interviewing and using your voice to share your opinions? Then The Senator Newspaper family wants you! Pick up an application from Ms. Negele-- room 362-- and return it by Today. You must apply and be selected to be enrolled in the newspaper class for next year. 


  • Student Council and Class Officer elections will be held next Thursday, May 15th. Information for those interested in running can be found on the class Canvas page. Forms must be turned in by this Friday by 3:30 PM to run. See or email Mr. Kramer with any questions. 


  • Students: please be aware that you are responsible for the care of your Chromebook. Do not misuse the Chromebook in any way - this includes tampering with the charging port or USB slot. Make sure you are handling all computers with care and safety in mind. Consequences for misuse will be  assigned to any student who damages their Chromebook. Thank you!


  • Anyone interested in being part of the flags team for next year and performing with the SHS Marching Band should attend tryouts after school this Thursday and Friday May 15th and 16th until 4:00pm. If you are unable to make those days please talk to Ria Lafrenz or Miss Boucher in the auditorium. 


  • Attention all athletes interested in competing for the boys and girls cross country team in the fall.  There will be a brief informational meeting on Wednesday May 14th in the gym at 2:30.  The meeting will last about 10 minutes.  Please see Coach Cotner if you have any questions.  





  • The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team claimed a 5-4 victory yesterday on Senior Night against Glenwood. In singles, Krish Khurana, Jai Khurana and Rohan Ugrappa won. While in doubles, the teams of Krish Khurana/Jai Khurana and Rohan Ugrappa/Matthew Sommer emerged victorious. Good job by everyone who played and congratulations to our Class of 25 seniors: Krish Khurana, Matthew Sommer, Rohan Ugrappa, Sri Thuppal, Ryan Hayes, Nate Pasman and Cody Stevens.
