  • Students, if you need help with your classwork or homework, After School Tutoring is held in Room 266 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.


  • Students, don’t forget: The Peace Room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30-2pm to any student needing support and a safe space to assist with mental health concerns. Check your Canvas to sign up or ask Mrs. Coley!


  • Pizza Pizza Pizza is Today. Be A Senator Club will be selling Papa John’s pizza for $2 a slice today in the Commons.  5 Senator Cash dollars can also be used to purchase 1 slice.


  • Congratulations, District 186 Collage! The show choir coop earned a 1st Place Superior Rating for the Class AA Division at the Music in the Parks Festival, Six Flags St. Louis this weekend. Ursula Phillips-Eccles also earned one of the three Outstanding Soloist awards given for all choirs/all divisions/all ages. Collage Show Choir is made up of students from Lanphier, Southeast, and Springfield High Schools. Auditions for next year will take place the first week of June. Stay tuned for more info.


  • The Sister Cities Association of Springfield (SCAS) will be sponsoring a high school student delegation to Ashikaga, Japan from June 21 to June 30, 2025.

The delegation will include high school students and 2 chaperones. Information and application materials can be found on the SCAS website:

  • Any senior athlete who is planning on playing a sport next year in college, please stop by the main office and pick up a Signing Day Information Form.  This form must be completed and turned in to Mr. Barnes no later than 3:30 on Friday, May 16th.  If you do not turn in a form, you will not be recognized.


  • Students: please be aware that you are responsible for the care of your Chromebook. Do not misuse the Chromebook in any way - this includes tampering with the charging port or USB slot. Make sure you are handling all computers with care and safety in mind. Consequences for misuse will be  assigned to any student who damages their Chromebook. Thank you!


  • Anyone interested in being part of the flags team for next year and performing with the SHS Marching Band should attend tryouts after school today and tomorrow May 15th and 16th until 4:00pm. If you are unable to make those days please talk to Ria Lafrenz or Miss Boucher in the auditorium. 


  • Any student interested in walking with SHS in the Pride parade on Saturday, please stop by Mrs Eaton’s room 366 tomorrow after school for info.


  • Please remove any non-district labels or stickers that may be on your Chromebook (including any left over glue residue) ASAP! Having a clean and sticker-free device will speed up the tech collection process and get you through the line faster. We will NOT accept devices that are dirty or that have stickers or glue residue, so clean them up now!


  • Final exam exemption forms are available for pick up in guidance for any student who maintains eligibility for second semester. Make sure you take the form that has your grade level at the top, and get your parent to sign it, then your teachers of the class you are exempting. Remember, all completed forms are due in the guidance office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 23rd. No late forms will be accepted.

Panera is the perfect vibe to study for finals while fueling up on tasty food and beverages-- plan your study session for Tuesday, May 20! 


  • The baseball team played their top game to date in topping the CS8 champs of Rochester by an 11 to 1 count in 6 innings. Karter Marks was the star of the show, as he pitched a one-hit gem in holding the Rockets to a single run scored in the 1st, while striking out 6. The offense was plentiful and was led by catcher  Liam Watts with 3 hits. Lucas Richardson, Levi Friedrich, Brody Scheffler, and Wade Snyder all had 2 hits apiece, with Richardson, Friedrich and Tyler Elliott each contributing 2 RBI’s. Next up are a pair of weekend home games Friday night and Saturday at Lanphier Park against Mt. Zion and Granite City.
